Calvosa Organization Breaks Ground on New Community on the South Shore

Construction Begins at Fox Run Estates

Construction on luxury homes at Fox Run Estates at East Islip is now underway

EAST ISLIP, New York (December 7, 2018) — Long Island custom home builder, The Calvosa Organization, has broken ground on its newest luxury community, Fox Run Estates at East Islip. The historic property, once known as “Woodland Estate”, will feature six custom-built homes on 1+acre homesites. The first home is expected to be complete by late 2019.

The site of Fox Run Estates has a long and interesting history stemming from its initial prominence as “Woodland”, the estate of famed financier Bradish Johnson, Jr. The old, dilapidated estate home, most recently home to the exclusive Hewlett Schoolof East Islip, has been demolished. And after facing initial reservations from the community, Builder Vince Calvosa is very excited to begin construction. “It’s such a picturesque site. We can’t wait to put our modern touch on this already beautiful
estate setting.”

The homes at Fox Run Estates will be similar to those at Calvosa’s previous community, Grace Estates, featuring old-world craftsmanship, as well as smart home technology. Interior features include 9-foot ceilings, white oak floors, handcrafted trim and moldings, and gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and stone countertops. Just a few minutes from Islip’s vibrant Main Street, Fox Run residents will have easy access to the South Shore’s plentiful amenities, including restaurants, shops, museums, the Marina and Fire Island.

Calvosa says there are only two opportunities remaining for interested buyers. “There has been plenty of enthusiasm for Fox Run. Four of the six lots are already sold. I have no doubt the last two lots will be selling soon.”

Calvosa Organization sets the standard – and breaks the mold – when it comes to luxurious design

The Calvosa Organization has a way of doing things that no other builder can match. We call our unique approach to building luxury homes “The Calvosa Touch”, and it is centered on our insistence on traditional craftsmanship, unparalleled integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.ny_view02

What makes our homes feel so luxurious? The obvious answer is the big things like gourmet kitchens, spa baths and huge master suites. But if the details in those spaces aren’t done correctly, they won’t feel luxurious. The details – like the materials used and the quality of the work – are what make the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.

At Calvosa, we’re all about those details. That’s why our homes are the epitome of luxury! Our classically designed homes evoke a level of grace and sophistication you don’t see too often these days. From hardwood floors to old-world style trim, Calvosa homes feel like grand old homes from years gone by.

Stately front porches welcome you into dramatic paneled foyers with sweeping staircases. Gorgeous kitchens feature solid wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, breathtaking backsplashes, and large islands. Formal dining rooms are elegant spaces with old-world paneling and complex trim work. Our master suites include extensive walk-in closets, luxurious showers and freestanding tubs, and opulent marble tiles.

Our homes also feature important details like large windows, 9-foot ceilings, arched doorways, fireplaces with mantels, vaulted ceilings, built-in bookcases, carriage house-style garage doors, and brick or stone façades with elegant moldings.

All of these design elements say “luxury” – and you’ll find them in every Calvosa home, where we’re proudly setting the standard for luxury home design on Long Island.

8 Reasons why the South Shore of Long Island is a great place to live

  1. The water. Long Islanders love the sound of waves crashing, and the feeling of sand beneath their feet. The South Shore is especially noted for good sailing conditions, and its deep trenches, which attract big game fish like tuna, shark & swordfish.

  1. The beaches. The barrier island beaches have a very chilled-out vibe that makes them the perfect spot for summer fun.

  1. Diversity. Since, technically, the South Shore includes everything from Queens to the Hamptons, you’ll find a great variety of people, culture and towns.

  1. Family-friendliness. According to NerdWallet, 6 of the top 10 cities for families in New York are on Long Island, including Bellmore & Commack on the South Shore. These towns are family-friendly, and within commuting distance to New York City.

  1. Nature. Particularly the Fire Island National Seashore where deer roam freely in the thickets, and migrating ducks and geese seek sanctuary in the marshes.

  1. Boutiques and other funky shops. The South Shore is home to dozens of small shops and boutiques that sell unique, locally made or sourced products.

  1. Climate control. Thanks to its proximity to the water, the South Shore is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. (This is welcome news when the rest of Long Island gets buried in snow!)

  1. History. The South Shore was one of the hot spots during the Gilded Age. (The Great Gatsby, anyone?) But there are records from the 1700’s that show that George Washington toured LI and stayed overnight in Islip.
