Why is a Grace Estates home a good investment?

ny_view17At The Calvosa Organization, we know that a home is more than four walls and a roof. It’s more than just an address. It’s where you feel comfortable and safe. It’s “home”. We strive to build a home that not only reflects your needs and dreams, but is well built, thoughtfully located, and energy-efficient.

Here are a few reasons why a Calvosa home at Grace Estates is a good investment.

Quality. Our craftsmen and contractors are the best in the business. (If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be working with Calvosa!) And we use the best materials – hardwoods, marble, stainless steel – so our homes last. In addition to our incomparable experience and skill, Calvosa also has rigorous procedures for ensuring that each home meets our specifications.

Location. Grace Estates is in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods on Long Island, on a beautiful site. So whether you want to be close to the beaches or parks, need a quick commute into the city, or just want to be minutes from schools or shopping, we’ve got you covered.

Integrity. As a respected, well-established builder, Calvosa is dedicated to excellence. We work with only the finest subcontractors and suppliers, peopleny_view11 we trust to build your dream home. We pride ourselves on developing personal relationships with our homebuyers, pursuing a level of trust and honesty that is rare.

ROI. Between the quality of our homes, and the great location, the value of your Grace Estate home will absolutely increase over time. You’re assured a good return on your investment – and a home that will last for generations!

Green features. Energy saving materials and systems save you money, so at Calvosa, we are proud that our Grace Estates homes include zoned air conditioning and heating, duct sealing and air sealing to reduce air filtration, Smart Energy testing, and Smart Home readiness. We use the Green Building Standard, so our homes are Energy Star certified.

What makes Grace Estates a luxury home community?

ny_view11At the Calvosa Organization, we build luxury homes. But what does that mean? What makes a home a “luxury” home? For us, it’s the quality of our workmanship and materials, along with a heightened attention to detail.

For instance, at Grace Estates:

  • The gourmet kitchens feature solid wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, breathtaking backsplashes, upscale quartz countertops, and large islands.
  • The spa baths have showers crafted from elegant Italian statuary marble.
  • Every home has classic wide-plank hardwood floors throughout the first floor and second floor hallways, and superior quality Kohler plumbing fixtures that are stylish and durable.

In addition to the finest products and materials, we are making these homes ready for the future, with smart home technology that manages sound, lighting and comfort. We’re also making them generator and solar ready. No matter what comes up, the homes at Grace Estates will be able to handle it.

At Calvosa, our classically designed homes evoke a level of grace and sophistication that’s rare in today’s pre-fab world. That’s another part of what makes them “luxury” homes. Stately front porches… dramatic paneled foyers with sweeping staircases… formal dining rooms… vaulted ceilings… built-in bookcases. This level of detail isn’t usually part of newly constructed homes today, but it is most definitely included in ours.

ny_view02And our attention to detail doesn’t stop at the finished features. Even our structure is superior, with a steel-reinforced, poured concrete foundation. Also, since our area of Long Island is in a 120 mph wind zone, these homes are hurricane resistant, with special hold-downs that tie the house to the foundation. They’ll withstand wind pressure many times more than 120 mph by the time we’re finished.

All of these elements say “luxury” – and you’ll find them in every Grace Estates home, where we’re proudly raising the standard for luxury homes on Long Island.

The Calvosa Organization’s Path to Building the Home of Your Dreams

Building your dream home from scratch is so exciting. That’s why The Calvosa Organization wants you to be involved in the building process from day one. We want to answer all of your questions, and let you see firsthand the details that make your new custom home so special.

4The first step on your path to building your dream home is a conceptual meeting. You are invited to come to our office in order to learn about our process. At this time, we can price a floor plan you may already have or discuss designing a custom home for you.

Next up is selecting a home site. The Calvosa team will work with you to select the ideal home site for your new home. We’ll work to match your particular needs and price range. Eventually, you’ll meet with Vince Calvosa, your builder, and you’ll discuss financing options, approve a layout and a design, and approve your contract & pricing.

Once you’ve finalized your financing, the fun begins! We’ll have a pre-construction meeting to review your plans and ensure that everything is correct. You’ll meet with our designer to make your interior and exterior selections – paint, flooring, cabinetry, lighting, and any other details that contribute to the uniqueness of your home.

Then, construction begins! You’ll be invited to a mid-construction review, so you can see what’s been going on in your new home. After everything is in and your home is complete, we’ll have a pre-closing inspection and home orientation. If all goes well, the next step is closing – and then Mosl-5ving Day! Your new home is all yours!

The Calvosa Organization is just as committed to your satisfaction once you take possession of your home as we are during construction, so we follow up with you after a few months with a post-closing inspection.

Calvosa Organization sets the standard – and breaks the mold – when it comes to luxurious design

The Calvosa Organization has a way of doing things that no other builder can match. We call our unique approach to building luxury homes “The Calvosa Touch”, and it is centered on our insistence on traditional craftsmanship, unparalleled integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.ny_view02

What makes our homes feel so luxurious? The obvious answer is the big things like gourmet kitchens, spa baths and huge master suites. But if the details in those spaces aren’t done correctly, they won’t feel luxurious. The details – like the materials used and the quality of the work – are what make the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.

At Calvosa, we’re all about those details. That’s why our homes are the epitome of luxury! Our classically designed homes evoke a level of grace and sophistication you don’t see too often these days. From hardwood floors to old-world style trim, Calvosa homes feel like grand old homes from years gone by.

Stately front porches welcome you into dramatic paneled foyers with sweeping staircases. Gorgeous kitchens feature solid wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, breathtaking backsplashes, and large islands. Formal dining rooms are elegant spaces with old-world paneling and complex trim work. Our master suites include extensive walk-in closets, luxurious showers and freestanding tubs, and opulent marble tiles.

Our homes also feature important details like large windows, 9-foot ceilings, arched doorways, fireplaces with mantels, vaulted ceilings, built-in bookcases, carriage house-style garage doors, and brick or stone façades with elegant moldings.

All of these design elements say “luxury” – and you’ll find them in every Calvosa home, where we’re proudly setting the standard for luxury home design on Long Island.

Things to Consider While Planning Your Grace Estates Dream Home

Building a custom home is your dream come true. But it is also months of planning everything from how the home is situated on the lot, to what kind of doorknobs you’ll have. Not to worry… The Calvosa Organization will be with you every step of the way!

Here are some things to think about as you plan your new home at Grace Estates.

  • Take a hard look at your budget. Take stock of your finances: net worth, income, expenses, investments, and debt before you meet with your builder. Determine how much you can afford to spend based on the down payment you have saved, and the monthly payment (based on current interest rates). If you are not a 100% comfortable with an amount that will allow you to build your dream home, then find ways to cut your budget, lower your debt, etc.

  • Visit other homes. You think you know what you want your dream home to be, but do you really? Drive around and visit other homes. Take pictures, make notes about what you like about them, what you don’t like, and how you feel about the construction. Deciding to change things halfway through is the single most expensive mistake most people make.

  • Think long-term. Do you have children? Do you have aging parents? If so, you’ll need to think about accommodating family members in different scenarios, such as returning college students, visiting grandchildren and/or grandparents, caring for elderly parents. Will you be working from home? You’ll need an office. Are you less likely to drive to the gym in bad weather? Plan for a fitness room. Flexible spaces are a good long-term solution for our ever-changing lives.

  • Prioritize. Once you brainstorm your “wish list”, start prioritizing. Custom home design can easily exceed a budget if you let things run amok. With so many amenities to choose from, it’s important to prioritize the most important items on the list.

  • Know what you want. Start looking through design magazines and websites to get inspiration. You will not only be picking your appliances, but designing the cabinetry around them. You’ll have to choose the trim, the paint colors, the floors, and, yes, the doorknobs. Do you have a style you like? Are there definitely things you don’t like? If you have some ideas when you come in for your concept and design meetings, the process may be less overwhelming.

  • Embrace the opportunity. It’s a rare thing to be able to design something that is truly the only one of its kind. A custom home is a personal, special opportunity. It’s built from scratch just for your family. Make sure you work in some unique elements or features that are distinctively yours. At Calvosa, we will build whatever you want.

Most of all, we want you to be excited! We might be a little biased here at The Calvosa Organization, but we believe we’re the best – and we look forward to helping you build your dream home!
