Explore New Homes and Communities
When we designed Summerwind Farm, our goal wasn’t to create yet another subdivision. We wanted to create a neighborhood that respected the character of the North Fork. That is why nearly 80% of the property’s 30 acres will remain preserved as conservation land, reflecting our belief that great communities begin with preserving what makes a place special.
That same philosophy guides the homes within Summerwind Farm. Every home we design starts with how people actually want to live. We don’t begin with square footage; we begin with lifestyle. Open gathering spaces, first-floor living options, outdoor entertaining areas, natural light, and thoughtful craftsmanship. All reflect the way families enjoy life on the North Fork.
Summerwind Farm is part of what we see as our North Fork Collection, a family of home designs thoughtfully created for this region and for the people who choose to call it home. The collection brings together the features, flexibility, and craftsmanship that make sense for North Fork living, while giving each home its own distinctive character.
If you’re interested in new construction homes in Aquebogue NY, exploring the North Fork Collection at Summerwind Farm is an opportunity to experience this approach firsthand. Calvosa Organization Breaks Ground on New Community on the South Shore
Construction on luxury homes at Fox Run Estates at East Islip is now underway
EAST ISLIP, New York (December 7, 2018) — Long Island custom home builder, The Calvosa Organization, has broken ground on its newest luxury community, Fox Run Estates at East Islip. The historic property, once known as “Woodland Estate”, will feature six custom-built homes on 1+acre homesites. The first home is expected to be complete by late 2019.

The site of Fox Run Estates has a long and interesting history stemming from its initial prominence as “Woodland”, the estate of famed financier Bradish Johnson, Jr. The old, dilapidated estate home, most recently home to the exclusive Hewlett Schoolof East Islip, has been demolished. And after facing initial reservations from the community, Builder Vince Calvosa is very excited to begin construction. “It’s such a picturesque site. We can’t wait to put our modern touch on this already beautiful
estate setting.”
The homes at Fox Run Estates will be similar to those at Calvosa’s previous community, Grace Estates, featuring old-world craftsmanship, as well as smart home technology. Interior features include 9-foot ceilings, white oak floors, handcrafted trim and moldings, and gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and stone countertops. Just a few minutes from Islip’s vibrant Main Street, Fox Run residents will have easy access to the South Shore’s plentiful amenities, including restaurants, shops, museums, the Marina and Fire Island.
Calvosa says there are only two opportunities remaining for interested buyers. “There has been plenty of enthusiasm for Fox Run. Four of the six lots are already sold. I have no doubt the last two lots will be selling soon.”
The Calvosa Organization is an award-winning, locally-owned building company specializing in luxury custom homes on the South Shore of Long Island. The Calvosa team, lead by owner & president Vincent Calvosa, is known for building superior quality homes, while giving buyers an efficient building process and innovative designs. The Calvosa Organization has been building throughout Long Island for the past 25 years.

The community has just begun selling, and builder Vince Calvosa says there are only a few opportunities remaining for interested buyers. “I had a waiting list for my previous community, Grace Estates, which is just down the road. So there was plenty of interest in Fox Run. In fact, four of the six lots are already sold!”

The site of Fox Run Estates has a long and interesting history, stemming from its initial renown as “Woodland”, the estate of famed financier Bradish Johnson, Jr., and then subsequently as the home of the exclusive private Hewlett School of East Islip. More recently, two developers tried to build on the property without success, including one unpopular plan to build an assisted living facility on the site. After facing opposition from the community, the parcel became available once again. And Vince Calvosa couldn’t resist. “It’s such a picturesque site. We can’t wait to put our modern touch on this already beautiful estate setting.” In a positive sign, the community has embraced Calvosa’s plan for building custom estate homes on the site.

6 Signs You’re Working with a Great Builder
Choosing a builder – especially a custom builder – is an important process. From the quality and style of the homes to your ability to get along, finding just the right builder is vital. Here are some signs that you are working with a great builder:
- They are busy… but not too busy. If a builder has a good reputation, clients will line up for their services. While the jobs they are currently working on should take priority over new work, be sure to ask how many jobs there are and how the workload is managed before committing
. At The Calvosa Organization, Vince Calvosa makes every family feel as though they are his only client. He works directly with each home buyer, designing a home and a process for each project. - They’re trustworthy and dependable. If you find a builder recommended by someone you respect, that is a huge confidence builder. Whether it’s a friend or the local HBA, you’ll know they are trustworthy. Plus, you can inspect their work and get a feel for how they operate. Vince Calvosa has been building homes on Long Island for a long time. He and his crew are well-known and well-respected, and they are eager to have prospective home buyers look through their past jobs.
- They have a good team. When you hire a builder, you are inviting a group of strangers to become a very big part of your life. It is vital that your builder has a team that you respect and feel comfortable with. At The Calvosa Organization, you will work with an in-house architecture and design team that guides you through the creative process. Then, a best-in-class project manager and team of craftsmen ensures you get top quality construction and service.
- They have good ideas, and can stick to a plan. Any builder can (hopefully) follow a set of blueprints, but a great builder can think beyond what’s on the page. When you discuss your project, take note of good ideas and practical advice they builder may have. Also take note of whether they are straight with you about whether you’re being unrealistic. You need your builder to tell you the truth, not tell you what you want to hear. Vince Calvosa and his extended family of professionals work together to create a home that incorporates all aspects of your life, while staying conscious of budgetary constraints and practical needs. From 10,000 square foot custom homes to modest first homes, they know how to build unique residences – and stay on target.

- They’re on time and return your calls. Finding a builder who arrives on schedule for meetings is a good sign. It shows good time management and organizational skills, as well as respect for your time. Builders who return phone calls in a timely and respectful manner also pass the “great builder” test. If the builder you’re considering doesn’t hit these marks, then you should look somewhere else. Vince Calvosa prides himself on building close, personal relationships with his clients. If you need him, he’s never more than a phone call away.
- They have a brand. The builder that invests in cultivating a “brand” is also likely to be extremely dedicated to building a strong business and a positive customer experience. Look at their website, business cards, work shirts and vehicles. Are they consistent and professional? Is there good organization? Vince Calvosa is so dedicated to building the best homes on Long Island that he literally puts his name on every one. There’s never a question of where the buck stops. Talk about branding.
